Slow play, In order to have a great week golfing, enjoying the fantastic scenic coast and possibly win a fantastic prize, ‘’keep up with the match in front and not in front of the match behind’’. Penalties may have to be applied in the event of times being taken longer than the R&A recommendation for a round of golf. All players must play in the competition format of that day, failure to comply will result in a disqualification, along with the possibility of the party losing the privilege of playing in the rest of the week’s events. Under no circumstances must an individual medal be played on a better ball format.

All Major Trophy prize-winning competitors are expected to attend the prize giving ceremony on the evening of Thursday unless exceptional circumstances prevent. In this event the player must submit in writing the reasoning for none attendance, consequently none attendance (if acceptable), the prize-winning vouchers will be emailed to the party organiser or individual as soon as is practically possible once and weeks events have concluded.

Every entrant must adhere to the policy of the relevant participating club regarding dress, along with conduct, under no circumstances will foul language or abusive behaviour be accepted and will result in the player or party being withdrawn from the event without recompense.

In the event of inclement weather, the relevant club will decide if the course should remain open and fit to play, if the course is open then the competition is on, all competitors are expected to participate.

All the event holding clubs (Filey, North Cliff, South Cliff and Whitby) accept no responsibility for loss and/or injury to persons and/or belongings or to third parties whilst using their facilities.
